Brilliantly Realigning

I like the shape of my water bottle after a run —crumpled in the corners where my grip was, like I was holding on for life, or something.

I like the shape of my water bottle after a run —a little lopsided, it stands differently now, and makes me think of what it’s like to be in my body with a nervous system bent the shape of past harm.

(Sometimes I feel so in-my-body
that I can sense it correcting itself…

Like conscious proprioception
between my bad knee and my good mind.)

I like the shape of my water bottle after a run —a little bent like me, bent but thriving; brilliantly realigning
